Last updated: 2026-07-09. This page provides general information about how ForgeMark Industries handles custom engraving on regulated firearm components. It is not legal advice.
Who performs regulated firearm work
Custom engraving on regulated firearm components is performed through our affiliated licensed FFL, Pete's Guns and Stuff, a home-based Federal Firearms Licensee in East Texas. Non-regulated items — display plates, decorative wall art, and 3D-printed pieces — are made and shipped directly by ForgeMark Industries and are not subject to the requirements below.
FFL transfer requirement
Any regulated firearm or serialized firearm component must ship to and from a licensed FFL dealer. We cannot ship regulated components directly to an unlicensed individual. If your project involves a regulated component, you are responsible for arranging a receiving FFL in your state, and the component must be sent to us from a licensed dealer.
Age requirement
You must meet all applicable minimum age requirements under federal and state law — generally at least 18 years of age for long-gun components and 21 years of age for handgun components. By placing an order for firearm-component work, you certify that you meet all applicable age requirements.
Legal eligibility
By ordering firearm-component work, you certify that you are legally eligible to possess firearms and firearm components and are not prohibited from doing so under any federal, state, or local law.
State and local restrictions
Firearm laws vary by state and locality. Some jurisdictions restrict certain components, engraving, or shipment entirely. It is your responsibility to know and comply with the laws that apply to you. We reserve the right to decline any order that we believe may violate applicable law.
Compliance
All firearm-related work is handled in accordance with applicable ATF, federal, and state requirements. Questions about a specific project? Contact us before ordering and we'll let you know honestly whether and how we can help.
